What is a "Classic Treasure"?

I believe a "classic treasure" is a writing or a verse from long ago that may speak of life in such a way, that you feel you must go back and read them again and again. Each time you do, your senses become heightened and you develop a passion for the beauty of the words. Here you will find what I believe to be "classic treasures." Open your mind to some magic....

I would like to dedicate "Classic Treasures" to my friend, Pete, who shares a passion for classic poetry. While creating this section of my site, I asked him what he thought a "classic treasure" is. His response:

"Speaking of music, a classic treasure could be a well regarded work by one of the masters that is treasured by music lovers. The same thing applies to poetry; classic would probably suggest a prior period and treasure connotes something valued by many. A "classic treasure" could be anything that effected me greatly to the point where I value it above the ordinary. Boundless, endless..."

"At once a prison and yet, freedom, the thinnest of ties, and yet, unable to be broken by the strongest among us."
